Keys to Peace is a peace building organization in the Upper Keys, striving to help build a “Peace-able Community.” We sponsor local activities that support tolerance, respect, dignity, justice, unity and nonviolence in our community. We focus on creating a culture of peace through events, education and the Peace Academy of the Florida Keys. One of the lead -in activities to the festival this past June and other events is our Prayer Flags for Peace project. The beautiful flags, blessed by Lama Migmar or the Tibeten Monks are available to you for a donation. These Peace flags (pictured above) were blessed by the monks from Drepung Gomang monastery during their visit to the Keys in January 2009. ~Each garland has a blank flag on each end. ~Blank flags can be decorated by you to write or draw whatever peace means to you. ~Hang them in your yard, on your boat, at the office. OUR INTENTIONS FOR PEACE WILL DRIFT INTO THE UNIVERSE WHEN THESE FLAGS FLY IN THE WIND.

Attachment develops when we believe that a person, thing, or situation is needed for our happiness. This is not love. Addictions to people, alcohol, or anything can lead to manipulation, violence, and abuse. Fear and lack are the driving forces behind attachments.
Non-attachment does not mean you cann't relate to someone with love or enjoy things. It is the ultimate in recognizing the illusion or knowing that others can not give you the full freedom of feeling the connection to our spirit. When we gain insight and understanding of the reasons we cling to certain situations, we can become aware and create a new consciousness.
The world of form is only an illusion. The hard line spiritual truth is "nothing matters".
CONCENTRATION, CONTEMPLATION, MEDITATION is the way to live in the present moment and come into awareness that we are all connected to Source and we are all ONE.
Ask yourself, again and again, " What am I willing to do, right here right now, to choose love and to help co-create peace on earth ?"
